Frankenstein

Mystery

Mystery and the unknown wraps themselves among many people and thoughts in this book. Victor in the beginning longed to uncover more knowledge and unlock the secrets of life and death.

Passion

There is a type of passion within everyone. For Victor, it was a passion for learning, for creating, then for destroying his creation. Elizabeth was passionate to her family. The reanimated corpse's passion was to be happy with the life he was given. Unfortunately, there was no happy passion that lasted long.

Fear

Upon giving life to a corpse, Victor feared his creation. He feared it would continue to torment the ones he loves. He feared for the lives of his family and his own life. He feared the monster would wreak havoc on all mankind. Then he feared it and its mate would spawn, creating more creatures to send against the world.

Life and Death

Victor was obsessed with the reasons of life and death. He dedicated two stressful years of his life to reanimating a corpse. Upon giving life to the wretch, he received the deaths of William and Justine as payment.

Monsters

The whole book revolved around the concept of monstrosity. There was monstrosity in knowledge because it led to a dangerous being that should've been destroyed. The being itself was a monster, the most important monster in the novel. Victor fought a monster within himself. He had a raging monster in him for he was livid with himself for creating that being and being the cause of all the deaths.
