Frankenstein

"Like one who, on a lonely road,
Doth walk in fear and dread,
And, having once turned round, walks on,
And turns no more his head;
Because he knows a frightful fiend
Doth close behind him tread."

This quote is relevant to the theme, fear, because Victor is rapidly walking the streets in pouring rain, fearing every noise and movement as if it were the creature he created.
"My person was hideous and my stature gigantic. What did this mean? Who was I? What was I? Whence did I come? What was my destination? These questions continually recurred, but I was unable to solve them."

This can relate to mystery and the unknown. Frankenstein's creation pondered the meaning of his life and what exactly he was. He had no one to teach him, and therefore, he was left to live in a world that was unknown and cruel to him.
