Frankenstein

Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley August 30, 1797 - February 1, 1851

Shelley grew up greatly influenced by her parents who were a social theorist and a leading literary woman. As a child, her father had her write letters to teach her to write better, and her favorite pasttime was writing short stories. Many interepret Shelley's writing to be retellings of her life with stories based on different people she was around. She wrote in a very gothic style which involved focusing on mental and moral issues rather than the twists and action in the plot. Mary died due to a brain tumour in Bournemouth, England.
